Emirates has announced a bold new plan to begin a daily service from Dubai (DXB) to Auckland (AKL), with a brief stopover in Bali (DPS). This new route comes into operation from the 14th June 2018.
This flight will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering passengers the choice of booking into one of three cabins. The Emirates B777-300ER offers 8 First Class Suites, 42 Business Class Cabins and 304 seats in Economy.
This is the only year round service in operation, that connects Auckland with Bali. WIth Emirates operating this flight it enables a large range of connection options and also adds further demand on the Emirates network, between Auckland, Indonesia and Dubai.
With the addition of this flight, Emirates is offering three daily services from its Dubai hub to New Zealand.
- Dubai-Auckland (EK448) / Auckland-Dubai (EK449)
- Dubai-Bali-Auckland (EK450) / Auckland-Bali-Dubai (EK451)
- Dubai-Sydney-Christchurch (EK412) / Christchurch-Sydney-Dubai (EK413)
With the increase in demand over the Summer months, Emirates has allowed for another two daily services between Dubai and Bali, however be careful when choosing which flight you book on to. The additional two flights are only being serviced with the two class configured Boeing 777-300ER, with only Business Class and Economy Class. If you are looking for the luxurious First Class experience you will need to make sure you book onto flights EK450 and EK451. The additional two flights will commence service on the 28th October 2018.
Emirates has said that it is eager to attract the United Kingdom, Europe and Middle East markets and believes that there is strong demand for the Bali and Auckland flights.
The southbound flight, departs Dubai (DXB) early in the morning at 06:55, arriving into Bali (DPS) later that evening at 20:20. Making the onwards connection to Auckland departing at 22:00 and therefor arriving into Auckland (AKL) at 10:00 the following day.
The northbound service, departs Auckland (AKL) at 12:40, arriving into Bali (DPS) at 17:55 that afternoon. The flight th goes on to Dubai, departing Bali (DPS) at 19:50 arriving into Dubai in the early hours of the morning at 00:45 the next day. Leaving you the whole day to make further connections on the Emirates network or flyDubai routes. If your not connecting onto another destination, you can simply head straight to your accommodation, and get a few hours sleep before spending the day exploring Dubai.
The indonesian island sees around 4.5 million passenger arrivals in 2016, with more than 40,500 tourists coming from New Zealand.
