Once you arrive at Brisbane Airport there are various transport options to choose from to take you into the Brisbane CBD. The airtrain connects passengers from both Domestic and International Terminals at Brisbane Airport, the train stops at various train stations along the way into the city. Once the train clears the Brisbane CBD stations, it becomes a direct service all the way to the sunny Gold Coast.

The airtrain has a station located just outside the main entrance to each airport terminal, within a few minutes from collecting your bag you are already waiting on the platform for the next train. During busy peak periods the airtrain operates every 15 minutes, with trains operating every 30 minutes during lower peak times.

Getting to the airtrain station from the Domestic Terminal is simple, easy and straightforward. Once you have collected your bags from baggage claim, make your way out one of the airport, and look for the Brisbane airtrain sign. Head up the escalator to Level 1, lifts are also provided. Level 1 is where the Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Qantas terminals meet before going up one final escalator to the train ticketing booth and train departure platform.

Customers are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets via the airtrain website prior to travelling. By purchasing your tickets prior to your arrival you can save up to 15% off the full adult fare, it all depends on how far ahead you purchase your tickets as to how much discount is applied.

If you are booking seven days or more, you will see the best savings especially when purchasing a return ticket. One thing which is extremely handy when you purchase you tickets online is that just book for the day of travel, it doesn’t matter if your flight is delayed or something comes up in-between, you are not locked into any particular departure time. Just make sure you are travelling on the date that you’re purchased the ticket(s) for.

Review
Whenever I have travelled on the airtrain, the train carriages have been spotless, they are free from rubbish. I have never had any issues in getting a seat, even during peak travel times. Clear audio announcements are made throughout the journey, so there no worry of missing your station.

All the airport train stations are all well signposted and are extremely easy to navigate around. There is always an airtrain personnel at most train stations and also on the platform, perfect if you require any assistance, or you’re not too sure where to go, they will be more than happy to help.
