As all my followers would have noticed that I have been closely following the progress of the brand new Atura hotel, situated next door to the Adelaide Airport Terminal. This is the first time we have seen an Atura branded hotel in South Australia and it’s also the first airport hotel in Adelaide, which is pretty exciting if you ask me.

Throughout the last week the hotel has been teasing us with a sneak peek of images of the hotel as the countdown is well underway for opening. It’s hard to believe that there is only five days to go! It seems like just yesterday that the hotel was getting built. Where has the time gone?

The hotel was announced way back in October 2016, with construction commencing soon after. At the time of announcement, computer generated images were released, which is what has been seen on various media sites and news releases. This gave us the first glimpse of what the Atura brand was all about and most importantly a glimpse at what the hotel will look like once construction is all complete.

Nine months after the hotel was announced the hotel was starting to rise up from the ground in the form of huge supportive concrete pylons.

As soon as 2018 was here the hotel stared to take shape rapidly, with various structural components all coming together to give us a look at how this new building will shape the Adelaide Airport precinct for many years to come.

The next process was installing the glass onto the façade of the building, finishing off the hotel in more ways than one. Of course every hotel needs glass to allow guests to enjoy the view outside, it allows natural light to flow in and most importantly it helps keep out the outside elements such as the weather and the noise from the nearby airport, after all no one wants to be woken up at 6am when Cathay Pacific decides to land. The glass that was used also gives a great aesthetic look to the hotel with its blue reflective appearance. It should make for some great photos especially around sunset with the reflections in the glass…. Perfect!

In early August, the Atura branding was placed onto the building. Local Adelaide based company SignLab was given the opportunity to supply and affix these huge fabricated letters onto the hotel, luckily it’s only a short hotel name and there is only a few letters.

The hotel has been teasing its fellow social media followers with a sneak peek of photos of the hotel. Rooms will feature luxurious large king beds as well as two single beds, it all depends on which room configuration you select when booking your accommodation.

The hotel will have an urban and industrial style portrayed throughout the whole property, from the hotel’s lobby, bar area and restaurant to your guest room. In the rooms the walls will feature decals of retro inspired aviation and travel photos, incorporating the styling with the local surrounding area.

The large restaurant, bar and lobby area will be a large communal space, filled by an abundance of natural light from the large floor to ceiling windows facing out towards the Adelaide  Airport promenade. The urban and industrial styling flows through this large communal area, along with an abundance of colours, quirky shaped seats and couches and glossy black metal features which will act as a styling feature and a way of separating the areas at the same time.

As we all know a hotel can’t function without coffee, especially not one right next to the airport. Coffee lovers rejoice as the hotel has given us a glimpse of the newly fitted BrewBar espresso machines, which are rumoured to be serving Show Pony Coffee, no doubt serving up some of the best coffee in Adelaide.

Large pendant style lights will be suspended from the ceiling in the lobby, restaurant and bar areas.

The below images are of the final glimpses we will get prior to the opening in the 1 September 2018.

The hotel will open its doors for the very first time on 1 September 2018, which is only five days away! The hotel currently has a special opening offer available to guests, which could see you staying at this brand new hotel for as low as $155 per night ($139 for PGR Members).
