A new daily service linking Phnom Penh and Bangkok with Emirates

Once again Emirates has announced a new route to its ever-growing network, but this time the focus has been on Cambodia and Thailand with Emirates linking Phnom Penh and Bangkok together with their new daily service beginning on 1 June 2019.

Flights will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft, so far on schedules it looks to be the Boeing 777-300ER airframe, offering customers a huge choice of seating on board with three cabins to choose from.

The service will begin at the airlines hub in Dubai and fly direct to Bangkok and then onto Phnom Penh, providing those passengers travelling between Cambodia and Thailand with more flight choices. Passengers can also connect easily with various Southeast Asian nations with Emirates’ huge global network, currently Emirates passengers can connect to over 150 destinations worldwide in over 86 countries and territories.

The flight will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 0845hrs (8:40am GST) bound for Bangkok, operating as EK370.The plane quickly touches down in Bangkok at 1815hrs (7:15pm ICT), after the short stopover the same aircraft departs at 2000hrs (8:00pm ICT), landing at 2125hrs (9:25pm ICT) after the extremely short 1hr 30min flight to Phnom Penh International Airport.

The return flight back to Dubai travels via Bangkok as EK371, departing Phnom Penh International Airport at 2320hrs (11:20pm ICT). Soon after departing arriving back in Bangkok just after midnight at 0040hrs+1 (12:40am ICT) the next day, it then sets off back to its home hub of Dubai at 0225hrs (2:25am ICT), arriving at Dubai International Airport the same day at 0535hrs (5:35am GST).

Over 100,000 passengers have travelled on Emirates operated flights between Cambodia and Phnom Penh since July 2017, with the Cambodian City contributing significantly to the country’s growth becoming Cambodia’s largest and most rapidly developing City.

Phnom Penh also continues to witness a huge increase in foreign tourists along with trade links between the UAE, Cambodia and Thailand.

Phnom Penh is home to 1.5 million people which is approximately the same amount of passengers that passed through Phnom Penh International Airport, in 2017. Over 1.4 million people passed through Phnom Penh International Airport, an increase of 21% from the previous year.

In conjunction with Emirates’ regional codeshare partners Bangkok Airways, Jetstar Asia, and Jetstar Pacific Emirates can therefor enhance connectivity between flights along with the ability to build travel itineraries that include various domestic destinations in Cambodia, Thailand and also other Southeast Asian countries.

The daily service between Dubai and Phnom Penh via Bangkok will complement the airlines five direct services between Dubai and Bangkok, from Bangkok travellers can choose to fly on to Hong Kong with Emirates directly.
